So I have been having crash issues while playing for a few days now. These crashes almost always occur at the same times. For example, in The Witcher 3, the game always crashes during the cutscene at the start of the game Ciri is training in. In Dark Souls Remastered, the crash always happens at the very start of a cutscene. Games will also crash randomly during normal play. When the crash occurs my screen goes dark but the PC is still on and music and game sounds are still playing in the background. McDVoice
So began the troubleshooting. At first I thought it might be a driver problem with my GTX 1080. I updated the drivers, I uninstall them to install the older ones, I clean the board with a can of air, I am made sure the cables inside my case were plugged in securely, I even diagnosed Windows 10 to make sure there were no corrupted files that could somehow mess things up.
